Ex-Display Iberian Holm Oak Charcoal
£54.94
Regular price £39.50The same great quality charcoal, but with more breakage than usual.
We spent last week displaying our Holm Oak Charcoal at the NEC, so we're giving you a deal on the bags we had on show. They've already been transported there and back, so by the time they get to you the packaging will be a bit bashed, and there may be a higher % of smaller pieces and dust in the bag due to breakage.
----------------------------------------------------------------
🔥 Restaurant grade lumpwood charcoal
🔥 Made from old growth oak - dense & long-burning
🔥 Extra large lumps blended with smaller pieces
🔥 Full of sweet, smoky flavour
🔥 Sustainable by its very nature
We're SO proud to release this outstanding charcoal to the UK market.
Holm oak trees are critical to Spanish and Portuguese farming, with 4 million hectares of woodland pasture producing acorns to feed the renowned Black Iberian Pig. Expert arborists carry out selective pruning to maximise acorn yield, before eventually trees must be replaced. Pruned branches & felled trees are turned into a charcoal revered across the Iberian peninsula.
The charcoal burns longer than anything I've ever used - a full basket in a kamado-style BBQ can burn low 'n' slow for 20 hours or more - but it also burns fiercely hot when needed for searing. The flavour imparted is sweet and smoky, much stronger than our British charcoal or anything produced on a factory scale.
It's perfect for kamados, and all steel smokers including gravity-fed, bullets, drums and offsets. It also works brilliantly well in kettle style BBQs, but the lump size can occasionally be a bit big.
